Live Link-up With the International Space Station

This week was really exciting! 3 children from year 5 were invited to The Derby High School to be part of a live link-up with Tim Peake on the International Space Station. We had to watch a map and wait for the Space Station to come into range before we could try and make a connection. We made a connection very quickly and it was amazing when we heard his voice coming over the radio. The pupils involved in the project had prepared 20 questions for him and we managed to ask all 20 in the short time we had available. Year 5 children will be continuing their scientific work by carrying out an experiment with 2 sets of seeds. One set of seeds have been in space and one set have not, I wonder which ones will grow the best. See the Year 5 web page for more details.
