Indoor Athletics
On 28th November 13 of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils competed in an indoor athletics meeting at the Derby High School. Although we did not win, everyone competed well. We were leading in several races and were particularly good in the triple jump competition. Boys and girls took part in different running races, relays, paarluf, standing triple jump, standing long jump, standing high jump, chest pass and speed bounce. The team supported each other throughout with lots of chanting and shouts of encouragement. We will be competing outdoors in the Summer.

Mad Science
This week in Mad Science we have been investigating 'monomers' and 'polymers'. We made 'slime' it was really exciting.

Rugby Team Reach the Semi-finals
On Thursday 20th October our rugby team competed with five other schools in the Autumn Tag Rugby Tournament which was held at Springside. The team narrowly lost the first game 1 try to nil to Old Hall, but then beat Holcombe Brook in the second game 1 try to nil. The players continued to improve and develop their team work, but were eventually beaten 2 tries to 1 by Greenmount, the eventual Tournament Winners. It was a very close and exciting game. Mr.James was particularly pleased with the way the team defended and worked hard for each other.
